Movement and stillness
If you’re anything like me, it takes a lot of movement to reach that place of calm.
A fast dynamic practice, set to electronic music, might not look like your typical idea of yoga. It’s a practice that will definitely increase the levels of fun that you have on the mat, but don’t be fooled…when you combine It with breath and concentration it becomes something vital…truly a moving meditation with no space for thoughts.
If you’re lucky enough to be practicing in a room with other people, you share that energy without sharing words. And if you’re practicing alone, it’s a silent internal dialogue.
Either way, when the movement stops, the meditation continues and when the meditation stops, your day will be different, you will be different.
Both my practice and teaching are grounded in Rocket Yoga – a dynamic mash-up with its origins in Ashtanga – but they are also influenced by a number of other styles and practices that I’ve come into contact with along the way. Prepare to move yourself in every direction possible and to get strong and flexible at the same time.
I’m also honoured to be one half of RocketBeats, a progressive yoga school, offering a range of day events, retreats, immersives and teacher trainings in London and beyond.
